My gut feelings and expressions about what I've learned of WWII concentration camps.

Bloody, thirsty, broken cross
starve them, gas them, burn them Jews!
Death, sweet peace at last.

This picture is a swastica, an infamous symbol which has now become a symbol of hatred, destruction, and death, associated with the Nazis.
Torutured to death, made to work without food, beaten, abused, and seemingly forgotten, the Jews were massacred by the thousands. Seeing their pictures, my mouth dropped open, my insides froze. I literally could have spewed at the thought that those are real people whose bodies I am seeing so emaciated.
Skeletons. Nothing but bones with souls.
I'd like to quote my friend, Micah, who is right now in Germany on a service mission:
Well said. We humans are amazing creations, capable of both great horror and great good. But, oh, the horror!

I'd like to quote my friend, Micah, who is right now in Germany on a service mission:
- We visited Buchenwald, a concentration camp, a
couple weeks ago as
well. I can't even describe some of the horrors those
prisoners endured. The
ovens where they burned people, the zoo that used to
sit just 20 feet from the
prison fence, the stories of Nazi torture, and the
pictures taken just after
the Americans arrived made me feel shame at just how
evil we humans can be at
times. Skeletons pushing skeletons...men with hollows
for eyes staring off
into space like they were without souls, or smiling,
actually smiling! at the
fence for an American photographer. I wondered how
they could smile after all
they had endured, and felt very humbled.
Well said. We humans are amazing creations, capable of both great horror and great good. But, oh, the horror!
I am almost speechless with disgust and horror.
